The rooms themselves are extremely relaxing and you can get a Shikara boat tour straight off your porch onto the lake. I booked a week at these houseboats, very nice location, great food, nice people (except for the very pushy tour sales people who were somewhat relentless. The houseboats are really nice, with neat rugs and furniture fitting of a more expensive place.

I had a wonderful stay at the Ritz, one of the Little Majestic family of houseboats. I was met at the airport upon arrival at Srinagar airport and was driven directly to the Ritz. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was warm and comfortable and the bathroom was also clean. The staff found a load of activities for me to do including two city tours, a boat ride and a multi-day trek into the Himalayas.
