about manas national park

Manas National Park has an exotic feel to it, with a stunning dense forest and the blue hills of Bhutan looming in the distance. Home to the tiger, elephant, wild buffalo and gaur as also that golden langur and red panda, Manas is classified as a World Heritage Site in danger.
You get permits to enter the Manas National Park at Barpeta Road. You can enter in your own 4-wheeler or a hired one. There are no Forest Department safaris but private resorts offer safaris. There are elephant rides, walks, tea plantation and village visits on offer.
