Ghetto - not even worth sleeping in

by SuzeeoutoftheCity201 on 05 Jan 2017 (Friends Traveller)

We booked this at the last minute for New Year's eve as we wanted a place to crash in Hamra after partying all night. It didn't help at all that the receptionist asked that we come back at a specific time so that they could let us in - turns out they'd run out of keys and had to take us up to our room and let us in themselves. I didn't believe it for a second and just thought it was their way of keeping tabs on people coming in to party or otherwise. Our room had a hint of cigarette smoke, nothi...

Good location in Hamra but not the best hotel in this neighbourhood

by Robertus_11 on 19 Sep 2014 (Business Traveller)

Hotel booked by my company for 1 night. Room was spacious but sparsely furnished and not very clean ( including bed sheets). When showering, the drain gave an awful smell that stayed for a long time. No internet in the room ( but free internet in lobby working well). Breakfast included very poor and breakfast room very dirty ( both tables and floor). Staff also prepares here room service breakfast and so items were very quickly gone. In general staff nice. Location great. But I have stayed many ...

stay away, sleep in the street if need be!!!!

by danielTucson on 17 Jun 2013 (Solo Traveller)

first big lie, "no smoking room", 4 filthy ashtrays in my room at all times. i put them in the hall and they reappear, i put them in the garbage and they reappear, and always dirty. I have asthma, i hate the stench of tobacco for a reason, it nearly kills me!!! second big lie: book more than two nights and airport ride included, lie lie lie. I was charged $38 for 7 local phone calls. drapes fell of wall, door to outside and door to "terrace" broken, air conditioner broken and sparking flame...

some how special

by kacsa on 24 Oct 2012 (Solo Traveller)

I stayed in Marble towers just out of convenience, it's location is perfect with full access to important places in Beirut and it's prices are also affordable. In fact I found previous reviews from Trip advisor very helpful to select among the rooms,so make sure to stay on the 6th-8th floors as they are the newly constructed rooms, relatively better than the ones on lower floors. the room is average size acceptable, i expected it to be a bit bigger thou. the bathrooms are ok but cleaning is not ...

Excellent neighborhood - Average hotel with good service

by Purusotam D on 02 Mar 2012 (Friends Traveller)

While touring Lebanon I made this hotel as my base in Beirut - mainly for its location in the Beirut's hamra district. Though very old and small, the hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. From the day of my online booking till the last day it was a balanced experience. Even the wi-fi internet facility was decent. Would recommend if one is looking for cheap deals in this location and if you are out the whole day. Morning breakfast, which was included in my package is a good try. The mo...
