ABOUT Melukote
Around 55 km from Mysore, this place is considered to be one of the most pious religious destinations of Karnataka. Also known as Thirunarayanapuram, this temple town is perched on a rocky hill that overlooks the Cauvery River and is dotted with various religious sites. There are two main temples in this place named Tirunarayana temple and Yoga Narasimha. The former is a square structure and is dedicated to Lord Cheluva Narayana Swamy, while the latter is dedicated to Lord Yoga Narasimha. Melukote is also an important Sanskrit research center and home to the Academy of Sanskrit research, which have acquired many old manuscripts and documents, which have been invaluable to numerous researchers. Since Sri Ramanujacharya, a Shrivaishnava saint spent 12 years in this place, it has become an important center for the Srivaishnava sect as well. Pushkarni is a picturesque lake located in the area. With numerous steps leading down to the pond from all sides and mandapas studded all around, the lake attracts lots of traffic and has been picturised in many feature films. The main festival celebrated here is Vairamundi festival, which is held during the months of March and April. The festival makes for a great time to visit Melukote and draws lakhs of tourists.

This trip was one of my most memorable trip with my friends because many incidents happend in this trip.First one is we taken ticket for passenger train and we boarded for express. Soo the journey was so thrilling that when ticket inspection will happen soo we are exchanging the cart from 1 to 1. 2 nd incident was we lost 200rs while coming and that was kept for train ticket soo we dont had any options so while coming also we travelled for thrilling free suspense journey.......
