about mercat de la boqueria

Thronged by tourists seeking out tidbits of Barcelona's famous food magic,  Mercat de la Boqueria is Europe's biggest food market. It is one of the sights you can absolutely not miss in the city. Gorge your eyes on the well-set stacks of ripened Montserrat tomatoes, the wet stacks of gooey snails and the fish stalls. The market is dotted with Tapas Bars, selling fresh food and juices, making it a tasty delight as well!

This place is best visited in the morning to observe the activity and be part of the hustle bustle. There are the smallholders' fruit and vegetable stalls located in the tiny square next to the Carme side of the market, where you'll find cheaper veggies and fruits.

A paradise for foodies and "home chefs". It is a paradise for the senses with tons of colours and nice smells. You can buy and try the best spanish ingredients. A must to see and do in Barna ;)
