how to reach motithang takin preserve

Bhutan’s only international airport is in Paro, about one and a half hour away from Thimpu. From Paro airport, Thimphu-bound taxis are easily available. Thimpu is connected to most parts of Bhutan by roadways. It has a city bus station from where inter-district buses depart and arrive at every hour. Self-driving from Phuentsholing is a scenic and enjoyable journey that takes about five hours. You can book a cab to reach this preserve. Buses are also available for the commute.

about motithang takin preserve

Motithang Takin Preserve is the habitat for Takin who is the national animal of Bhutan. The animal looks like a cross between a cow and a goat. It is believed that the animal was created by the great Buddhist yogi, Drupa Kunley, and it can be found only in Bhutan. The preserve was originally a mini-zoo but was converted into a preserve later. The best time to see them is early morning when they gather near the fence to feed. It is one of the best places where you can spend some leisure time with your family and friends.
