about museo reina sofia

Museo Reina Sofia was designed as a modern complement to the historical Prado Museum. The museum was officially inaugurated by Queen Sofia in the year 1992. It was originally built as a hospital and was later expanded as a museum in 2005. The structure of the museum is designed by French architect Jean Nouvel. The museum houses a broad array of works created by Spanish artists, including huge collections of artwork by Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí. Picasso’s masterpiece, El Guernica, is the major centre of attraction in the museum.
