The National Gallery of Art is a national art museum in Washington, D.C, privately established in 1937. A joint resolution of the United States Congress led to the formation of this art gallery. It houses a collection of some 1,41,000 paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculpture, decorative arts, and new media tracing the development of Western art from the Middle Ages to the present. The gallery is open to the public and the entry remains free of cost. The campus of the gallery includes the original neoclassical West Building and modern East Building which are linked by an underground passage. Visitors from all across the world come here to see prestigious and some major work of art collection.
