Okay for 1 night stay.

by BigFishDiveClub on 18 Jul 2015

Right next to the train station, but not much else. The Chinese restaurant was okay, but nothing special. The room was not all that clean. I stayed here for only 1 night for a business meeting in Nanjing. The hotel is your typical Chinese operated business hotel, may be 2 or 2.5 stars. It's okay for a night, but look elsewhere if you are staying longer in Nanjing.

Confusing name and unfulfilled promises

by Heather K on 01 Jun 2015 (Solo Traveller)

First, the name. Listed on CTrip as "Maochen New Century Hotel", the hotel I actually stayed in called itself "Jiangsu New Century Hotel" or on some literature, "New Century Hotel". You can't select "Maochen New Century" or "Jiangsu New Century" hotels on this website, either. Secondly, the hotel advertised a wine bar. There was no wine bar to be found. What I saw looked abandoned--nothing on the shelves, no staff in sight. The buffet advertised "black bear meat", which tasted just like sw...

Good rooms in an uninspired hotel

by Kosciusko_11 on 05 Apr 2015 (Couple Traveller)

Came to this hotel for sightseeing in Nanjing, and selected this hotel for location next to train station and facilities. Disappointed to find the pool is closed for maintenance and the gym is very shabby, with equipment older than most of the staff. It's also hard to get a taxi, as the entrance area has been turned into a makeshift carpark. It's about a 700m walk to the subway line. Breakfast was almost only Chinese style, and barely edible. Internet is SLOW. On the plus, rooms are clean. Overa...

Awful. Absolutely awful.

by AussieOnTheRoadcom on 04 Apr 2015 (Couple Traveller)

My girlfriend and I had the misfortune of staying at the New Century Hotel on our recent visit to Nanjing. After fifteen countries and two years living in China, my standards when it comes to hotels are pretty low. Even by those low standards, the New Century was s toilet of disastrous proportions. I could forgive them the inconvenience of their pool being out of action, or even the fact their breakfast buffet's sole western option was cereal. This is China, right? The 'state of the art' gym ...

good building but outdated

by Luiz Antonio M on 16 Nov 2012 (Business Traveller)

This is not the best place to be in Nanjing. The building is close to the rail station and has good lake views. There is wi-fi inside the room but not inside the meeting rooms where I had a working meeting. Room carpet was dirty as well at common áreas at the hotel. Smoking is permitted, it is a long time since I was obliged to a second hand smoke like this. Everything smells smoke and this is terrible! This is not the best part of the city to stay. I had lunch at the Intercontinental Hotel in ...
