Under Renovation

by SuperSpy007 on 19 Sep 2015 (Business Traveller)

Unfortunately, this hotel was under renovation when I stayed here in early September, 2015. This is the reason of my low rating and it seems like taking more time to complete. Restaurant was functioning, but not so much variety. Wifi is a bit slow but still OK. Staff were good and kind, so I may return this hotel when they finish renovation work.

Accomodation

by Ahmad K on 29 Dec 2014 (Family Traveller)

Pre booked 3 rooms for 2 nights for 6 adults with travel agent. On arrival from Kuala Lumpur on 25 Dec 2014, the hotel was in a bad condition due to renovation, including noises of the renovatoon. Not conducive for stay during the trip. Had to move out to another hotel. The travel agent was helpful in getting a better hotel. Probably the renovation would take another month to complete. Anyway the stay in Phnom Penh was generally memorable before we went on to Siem Reap.

Under Construction

by Jens R on 15 Dec 2014 (Solo Traveller)

I have been at the NY hotel for a couple of times, it was always good value for money and the location befits my needs. This time however they're untertaking a much needed major renovation - sadly they did not tell me before I had upgraded my prepaid Agoda reservation form Superior to DeLuxe Room. The noise after 9am is unbearable-the room is really shaking. After a night with a few too many drinks not a pleasant experience.. The staff is courteous and helpful however. It looks like after the up...

Hard to rate, but excellent value for money

by Jens R on 26 Jan 2014 (Solo Traveller)

Yes, there are better hotels in Phnom Penh and fancier ones. The NY hotel is from the 1980's likely, and furniture starts getting dated. However, you will probably not find better value for money when in PP, unless you need pool or other amenities. For someone on business or someone into exploring PP all daythime it's a good choice. Rooms are rather large, kingsize bed, desk, room safe, table and two easychairs as well as a fridge and working WiFi. Room rate is 35$ a night for a Superior room, t...

Rather spartan room, dated, could be cleaner, noisy

by Bas_v_H on 24 Dec 2013 (Business Traveller)

I traveled in a group and this hotel would never have been my choice. Room on 3rd floor with only a small window, furniture and bed old, worn, and sheets (and towels) were probably clean, but didn't really look like it. Bathroom needs a facelift and amenities below average. No idea of the price, so cannot judge price-quality balance. Location fairly good. Would come back
