PDX Close, clean, well appointed gem.
by Snobuz78 on 27 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)
The Portland Nordic Motel is a gem of a place to stay in Portland very near PDX. The staff are friendly, the location close to restaurants, and services, rooms are tastefully decorated, with coffee makers, refrigerators and microwaves. Clean well organized, very fair pricing and the lobby offers coffee with flavored creamers too!
Second Stay But Won't Be Our Last
by juliarrtx on 16 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)
For what it is, an old-school style motel where you park outside each door, it's truly the best of it's kind, esp if you are on a budget. It's maybe 5 minutes from the airport, the proprietor Jay is super helpful, nice, and CARES about your experience here, he serves great coffee in the morning, the bed, linens, and pillows are nice, it feels safe and homey, and you can get an affordable 2 bedroom with a kitchenette (no breakfast but you can make your own)...so it's great for families or 2 coup...
STRANDED IN PORTLAND!!!
by Shari E on 22 Dec 2016 (Family Traveller)
Flew into Portland to visit family in Springfield but had advance plans to join friends in the city first for lunch before the 2 hour trek south. What we did not know was that the winter storm blew not only snow but ice - bad for a city with hills! We tried for 4 hours to leave Portland after our lunch to no avail. Not only were the interstates filled but so were the hotels! We were referred to the Nordic as our last desparate attempt to find a place for the night - WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE!...
Good location, Clean, Reasonably Priced 2 Bedroom Suite
by economom on 21 Dec 2016 (Family Traveller)
We needed a centrally located place to stay on a recent trip to visit family for the holidays. The Nordic Motel met our needs beautifully. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. The separate room had a TV and its own heater, and the main room had a kitchenette with full-sized appliances, a small table with 2 chairs and the queen-sized bed. Everything was spotlessly clean with fresh paint and linens. The neighborhood felt safe and there were sidewalks by the road. We weren't familiar with Portland, bu...

This motel is a nice place to sleep. The room was clean and cozy. The walls are super thing though, my neighbors talking at a reasonable level kept me awake. Bring earplugs. That's life though, right? The staff was very friendly and everything worked in the room.
