Norwegian equivalent of an Ibis Budget in the UK
by greenday41 on 28 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)
Close to the station, shops, opera house and the Oslo Spektrum. As others have said no frills. Room was clean and warm. It reminded me very much of the Ibis Budget hotels in the UK. A lot of people seemed to be having trouble with the check-in machines in the reception and people would wait for someone to come out to let themselves in (in other words anyone could get in). My one complaint is that there wasn't even a bathmat in the tiled bathroom and you could easily slip and hurt yourself.
Perfect location, clean, good price
by Rebecca M on 27 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)
Visited Oslo for 3 nights for a city break and to take in a gig at the Oslo Spektrum. Wanted a no frills clean, warm room close to the gig and the centre. This place ticked all the boxes. Costing under £200 for three nights it's budget end but was tidy, modern, clean and warm. Great shower too. The location is excellent - just an easy two minute stroll from the central train station and the same to The main shopping area and lots of bars and restaurants. The concept is impersonal in that you che...
Very Close to Central Train Station and Quite a Bargain
by Vinny227 on 26 Jan 2017 (Solo Traveller)
I caught the express train from the airport and made it to the hotel in 35 minutes. With Citybox being so close to Central Station, you are also right near all the transprtation you need to get around the city. This hotel is an excellent home base for a visit to Oslo, and the budget price allows you to spend your money elsewhere; I dined in some fine Oslo restaurants with what I saved on hotel costs. This was the smallest room I've ever had in a hotel, but it still felt quite roomy. Since I was ...
Great location, no frills, comfortable
by Joseph B on 23 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)
We first arrived at this hotel at 1:00am on a Monday, but it was very close to the train station (Central Station) and easy to find, and easy to do the self check-in. Small room but clean & comfortable. Only 2 blocks to bus station to go wherever we wanted with our Oslo pass, and less than 2 blocks to Karl Johann Street which is a pedestrian only street with many shops and restaurants. Free Wifi was big plus, but we didn't miss the television or daily maid service.
Location: five minutes walking to oslo central station
by Ana_Luisa_Freitas on 22 Jan 2017
This is a hotel with invisible staff. You check in and check out on your own. It's not difficult, but the touch screen is not the best... I had to do it 3 times... frozen fingers maybe! I liked the common areas, they seemed cozy enough. _The room was basic but everything you need is there - desk, chair, lights, electrical outlets, hooks... no tv (but who cares... if you really miss it go downstairs). The only con is the noise from other guests... the walls are thin. Locatin is the best if you ...
