Rewalsar is located at a distance of approximately 22.5 km from Mandi district. The nearest airport to Mandi is the Kullu Airport at Bhuntar, which is at a distance of 75 km from Mandi. You can book a direct cab from Mandi to reach Rewalsar. If you don't get a direct cab, you can book a shared cab till Mandi and then use public transport to reach the lake. Take a taxi (one-way/return ₹500/600) or take one of the five buses to Naina Devi Temple (₹30) and get off 1 km before the temple.

Among the most important religious sites of Rewalsar are the Padmasambhava Caves. You have to climb approximately 50 steps upwards to reach the caves. Through the small entry of the caves, you will enter into a big hall. The main cave houses the images of various Buddhist deities and pictures of Dalai Lama. On the altar, you can see the currency notes of various countries like Bhutan, China, Nepal and Thailand. This indicated the arrival of Buddhist from all across the world. It is believed that Guru Padmasambhava did his meditation here. You will find many people meditating inside the cave.
