Amidst all this, Northeast Frontier Railway has come up with an interesting solution to save elephants from train accidents.
To keep elephants at a distance from railway tracks, Indian railways launched ‘Plan Bee.’

How does it work: As elephants are afraid of bees, a device worth Rs.2000 has been installed near the railway tracks in Guwahati, Assam which emits the ‘buzzing’ sound of swarming honey bees. Elephants can hear this sound from a distance of 600 metres.
