about qutbuddin hajira

If you think Vadodara is all about temples and palaces only, think again. Vadodara also has Qutbuddin Hajira, which is famous among locals and tourist alike. This tomb is built in remembrance of Qutbuddin Muhammed Khan, one of the generals of the Mughal emperor Akbar, in the year 1586. The beautiful monument is situated midst a huge sprawling green lawn and is known for its intricately carved jaali works. Even the windows and the arches of the tomb have various eye-catching designs on it. The splendour of Mughal architecture is reflected on this structure, making it one of the most significant Mughal artistic work in the city of Vadodara. On top of all these, you will also find a step-well near the tomb, which is an add-on to the old-world charm of the place.
