about rama setu (adam's bridge)

Adam's Bridge or Rama Setu is a chain of limestone shoals, connecting Pamban Island and Mannar Island. The bridge, 50 km in length is the only land connection between India and Sri Lanka. According to Indian mythology, the bridge is supposed to be built by Lord Rama to reach Sri Lanka. The name  Rama Setu ( in Sanskrit; setu is referred as a bridge) refers to the bridge built by the Vanara (ape men) army of Lord Rama.
