You get what you pay for

On a budget and just want somewhere to sleep and wash? This hotel is perfect for you! This is exactly what me and my partner came for and we had a pleasant experience. Pro's: -The location. It's over the road from a tube stop which was very convenient and it's next to a number of fast food places and shops that are open late so food and drink isn't an issue. -Beds were comfy and the room itself was spacious enough for a couple. -Price is also a bonus as for a place that's such a good location...

Nice staff and good location to station

by watermelonlemon on 10 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)

I am amazed that this hotel is under-rated. This hotel is in very super close location to Paddington train station. Very good for early birds catching trains to airport or outside London. This is the reason I picked this hotel. I stayed in a few other hotels during my trip here- Royal Norfolk is one of the best hotel so far. There are a lot worse hotels out there (even they are advertised well online). Staff in Royal Norfolk are friendly, there are no lifts but however, the staff even provide ...

Worst Hotel Ever

by Benji M on 09 Jan 2017 (Friends Traveller)

Check in was from 2pm onwards. However, I was told to come back for 3.30pm as the room wasn't ready. When I came back I was told the room still wasn't ready. I had a 20kg suitcase with me and was offered no help taking it up to the 4th floor, which wasn't just a straight up the stairs job due to the multiple wings. The room smelt of mold, the tap obviously hadn't been used for a long time and when I turned on the water it came out smelling rancid. The toilet seat was broken and the shower a tric...

It grew on me

by YusriSafri on 23 Nov 2016 (Solo Traveller)

The reason why i chose to stay here was its proximity to Paddington Station. Only a minute's walk. That is the hotel's major selling point. When i arrived, the checkin process was smooth and quick. However, there was no elevator and i had to carry my heavy luggage up. And the carpet along the corridors and staircases was in very bad shape, making the hotel look very low-class. I was dreading how the room could possibly look like. When i reached my room, it was better than i had imagined. Not to...

Not a bad hotel try to avoid been given room 104.

by JKH1961 on 15 Nov 2016 (Couple Traveller)

On arrival the hotel didn't look too bad. Check in was quick and easy & staff very pleasant. The room: We booked what was supposed to be a superior double room we was put in to room no 104 it was small & cramped not much room to move around, the bed was very lumpy and uncomfortable to sleep on, springs was also coming through the side of the mattress. There is a single wardrobe, desk with chair & small chest of draws & hairdryer in room although there was no mirror anywhere to be seen near it. ...
