Great locality to Plaza Dorrego

by Lin K on 31 Jan 2016

My partner and I have stayed here a few times. Owner very nice and accommodating. We had a studio apartment upstairs. Able to cook minimally. Fresh markets nearby. Sat on the bed and had a super cheese platter with wine and the works. Even bough our own steaks a couple of times. A little expensive per night this year to stay eg. $60-65 US a night. Guess because of the US dollar. Have to find something else unfortunately as we will be in Argentina for 8 weeks this time.

Perfect Place!!

by Linda M on 22 May 2015 (Solo Traveller)

I stayed here to take advantage of being near the San Telmo Sunday Market and that was a fabulous experience. But also, the tango dancing and music in the adjoining plaza was magnificent! I was right in the middle of the action! The hotel was unique and included a balcony and staircase in my single, affordable room. I recommend it to everyone who is visiting Buenos Aires!

Charming and comfortable

by Lizie G on 16 Jan 2014 (Family Traveller)

We stayed in Colonial in December 2013, while there was a heat wave in buenos aires. Ines who is the owner made us feel very welcome, we were offered water and coffee, which was nice after we had been travelling overnight. Ines is very helpful and would try her best to help. She also speaks good English. There is a lovely patio from where the room are accessed. The rooms were basic but comfortable with a small tea kitchen, so we could make our own tea and coffe. One of the room was like a small...

Old Buenos Aires Hostel

by ChristineAndRolf on 25 Nov 2013 (Couple Traveller)

We stood for three nights. The location is great, just between La Boca and the center. Everything in walking distance. Miriam is the heart of this small B&B hostel and gives you every information you ask for. OK the rooms would need some paint but all was clean and in relation to the price. Getting breakfast in a nearby restaurant is a experience and brings you in contact with the local people. The closed by Telemo Sunday market is a must. We felt very welcome there. When you search for luxury h...

Very friendly staff & owner

by Markus H on 08 Sep 2013 (Solo Traveller)

Stayed here for about 2 weeks. Calm location, very friendly owner & staff. Well the place is a bit "used" and could need some work done (refurbishing etc) but for a moderate price its ok! Great access to San Telmo Night Life & antiques, all very close! I agree to some other comment, more of a hostel than hotel, but as said for the price that is asked its fully ok! Felt home here & we were always welcome & got good tips for visiting B.A. & Mar de Plata. Here the beeing home & familiy character c...
