about shopping in london

Being the world's or rather the world's fashionista's favorite shopping destination, shopping in London is must. From high-end luxury labels to thrift stores, London has it all and more. While London's row after row of shops is sure to have you dazzled and overwhelmed, be sure to tear your eyes away from the luxury retail chains and keep a lookout for the native gems- the local, boutique shops. Here not only will you find items that are original, but also unique in that there are either only a couple of duplicates or that in few days the shop might only go off the grid. What makes these boutique shops particularly charming and must shop at, is the personal & friendly service you get whilst shopping here, making the experience all the more memorable, and not just for the beautiful souvenir or trendy wear you manage to acquire.
East End has a number of incredible vintage boutique shops, with Portobello road lined with more contemporary ones. Oxford street is of course a shopping landmark and crowning glory of West End. Follow the street to Tottenham Court road and you will increasingly come across shops selling cheap souvenirs and items. Marylebone, Regent Street and Bond street are the ones lined with high-end luxury chains. Burlington Arcade is where it begins to get interesting. Here there are a number of upscale boutique shops selling jewellery, fashion and linen.

Then there is Notting Hill, Knightsbridge, Brompton Cross, Walton Street, Kensington High street to choose from- the list is simply endless such are the shopping delights London has on offer. Greenwich, that opens only on weekends, is still perhaps the best stopover for arts and craft.
