I have been visiting Gokarna almost every year and I can see the place is changing. The best thing about this place is the location. We had booked 2 rooms and we were told that if AC needs to be switched on, it will be charged extra. But when we reached there , we were told that the AC rooms are being renovated. This is the place to rest. We can get this cottages based on our budgets. We are three stayed for two day paid only 2k. We can easily walk 20min to om beach. There are plenty of shacks to our fun closely. Decent GoKarna international beach is just a min walk from cottage. No parking since we have to stop our vehicles top on hill were road ends we have a big place to park Buses, cars, two wheeler and autos and walk down to the beach. Keep your maps handy cause the cottages are hidden behind the shack and a little difficult to find. However if you walk past the Gokarna International Hotel you will come across a board which will led you to the cottages. I had booked Shri Umamaheshwar Cottages, Gokarna through make my trip portal. The booking was for 1 day on 6th May 2017. We reached Gokarna at 9pm on 6th May but could not find the way to the hotel. When we called the hotel they asked us climb down the hill as the hotel is in the valley. They had no lights for approach & the hotel staff was terrible in replying when we requested to help us reach the service.
