Coorg is one of the most beautiful places in the state of Karnataka. It is about 130 km away from the city of Mysore and one of the popular getaways in the region where one can take a quick respite. There is a good frequency of Mysore to Coorg cabs, which take about 2 hours and 30 minutes on the journey. Lush green coffee plantations, cascading waterfalls and the rich wildlife of the place, fondly invites tourists from all over the country and from all walks of life. The following itinerary will help you plan a perfect trip to this beautiful place.

A one day trip to Coorg might get a little hectic due to the shortage of time besides most of the popular touristy places here are located away from the town and requires short trips to reach the places. However, if planned properly, Coorg can be covered well with slight compromises at certain ends.

The first place on your agenda, after breakfast is to head for the famous Dubare Elephant camp, where you can witness the jumbos of Southern India. It is one of the most famous Elephant reserve in all of the country and if you are a wildlife lover this place will not fail to give you an experience for a lifetime.

After that you can go to the Brahmagiri Hills. It is a picturesque spot in Coorg and you can witness a variety of flora and fauna here.

You can enjoy a small picnic here amidst the natural beauty of the place. You will not find many restaurants here, however, roadside dhabas will be there to serve you with a wholesome and tasty meal. But a picnic at the top of the hill is an absolutely splendid experience.

Located on the Brahmagiri hills is the Talacauvery, which is said to be the origin of the river Kaveri. It is considered to be one of the most holiest places in Coorg.

By afternoon you can go and visit the beautiful Abbey falls. It is a beautiful waterfall and you would want to spend hours here enjoying the milieu of the place. If you stand close you will be able to feel the little droplets of water on you as it splashes on the rocks.

Return back from the falls before it gets dark. By evening the forest around the waterfall turns dark and might make it difficult for one to find their way back.

There isn't much to do at night in Coorg, being a little town. So, it is best to tuck in your bed, after dinner, and soothe your bones post this hectic, fun and adventurous day.
