Dalhousie is an amazing tourist destination located in the Himachal Pradesh state of India. A trip to this beautiful hill station is exciting and great fun. The places located nearby the hill station are also equally beautiful and deserves a visit. So, lets how you can spend three wonderful days in this hill town.


Day 1


Begin your day with at Dalhousie with a visit to Panchpula. It is one of the most popular places in the town and tourists flock here to enjoy the alluring beauty of this place. Panchpula means ‘five bridges’. The most popular thing about this place are the rippling streams and the gorgeous atmosphere.


On the way to Panchpula is the Satdhara falls. You can either opt to visit the falls on your way to Panchpula or on your way back. It is a gorgeous waterfall that is named after the seven springs in the region. The locals believe that the water from the spring has therapeutic powers and can heal diseases and ailments.


Coming back to the town by mid day you can make your pick among the various restaurants and have a delicious meal. Dawat restaurant and Kwality restaurant are few among the fine options here. Make sure to try out the Gulab Jamuns at Cafe Dalhousie, it will blow your mind!


In the afternoon you can visit the St. John's Church at Gandhi Chowk. It is a beautiful Protestant church that will remind you of the Victorian period. It is an elegant building that has great historical eminence.


You can end your day by a little bit of shopping at Gandhi Chowk and the Tibetan Handicrafts Center.


Day 2


On the second day head for Khajjiar, that is located 24 kilometers away from Dalhousie. It will take you a maximum of two hours to reach this beautiful hill station where you can enjoy a numerous activities. Khajjiar is nicknamed as the ‘Mini Switzerland’ of India.


The popular attractions of the place would include the Dhauladhar mountains, The famous Khajjiar Lake and the Khajji Nag temple. Khajjiar is located at the base of the Dhauladhar mountains and one can get a panoramic view of the ranges from the hill town.


Khajjiar lake is also another beauty in this place. It is encompassed by a saucer-shaped lush green meadow and a floating island. Khajjiar is named after the Khajji Nag temple, which has great religious and historic importance in the town.


By afternoon you head back to hotels in Dalhousie and spend the night there.


Day 3


You can head for Chamba on the third day at Dalhousie. The distance between the two hill towns is 41 kilometers and it will take maximum of 2 hours to reach. It is best to travel by road and you can either hire a cab or take a bus to Chamba from Dalhousie.


Chamba is a beautiful hill station that is laden with many beautiful places. There are many temples and beautiful places that you can visit here. A visit to Chamba is must when you are staying at Dalhousie.


In the evening you can opt to either head back to Dalhousie or you can also spend the night at Chamba.
