about surfing at arambol beach

The word 'surf' comes from the Indian word 'suffe' which means coastline, which is a bit surprising since India was amongst the last countries to actually take this watersport seriously. When it comes to Goa, it may not be a surfer's paradise, but you may get lucky on some of the beaches where the waves are compatible and challenging enough for experienced surfers. The river mouths usually have distinct sandbar formation, which make very good beach breaks. The usual wave rises to about 3-5 feet during September to January, but starts increasing in the following months, till it reaches on an average of 15 feet in the month of June. You will get bigger waves on the Morjim and Chapora beaches.  Make sure there is a low tide, and the wind is blowing from the north-east, and you're good to go!
