Fab weekend!!

by dhosford71 on 23 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

Just back from a fab wkend stay at the Tara Towers Hotel Dublin. It was amazing from start to finish. Upon arrival the girl on reception was more than friendly and quickly checked us in making sure to check the room had been indeed cleaned as we arrived earlier than check in time. Our room was No. 505 with a stunning Sea View. Large and comfortable enough and the bed was very pleasing indeed. The room had plentiful tea, coffee and mugs in the room. Tv with all the channels. An iron with iron bo...

Slow two weeks

by JakeOrangeST on 23 Jan 2017 (Business Traveller)

I spent two weeks here as work booked me into this hotel for work in the local area. Rooms are clean and comfortable but thats about it. Wifi is absolutely terrible throughout the hotel!! TV is rubbish with only a handful of channels, the restaurant is nice But only has a small selection of meals so you end up eating the same things repeatedly, breakfast is decent though. Bar and breakfast staff are lovely, but reception staff are slow and not very helpful. If i had the choice i wouldn't stop he...

Doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is, cheap and cheerful!!

by ncmono on 19 Jan 2017 (Friends Traveller)

Stayed here in a triple room with 2 friends as we were attending a show in the RTE studios and this is very close by. OK, yes, this place is stuck in a time warp but there isn't one thing I can complain about. Had dinner here - food was very yummy for standard hotel prices. Staff were friendly (special mention for Al the English night porter who is a gem of a man). The room was clean, warm, and although not huge or luxurious it was grand. The bathroom was clean and had plenty of hot water. I'd b...

Still in the 1970's when it must have been built?

by OrangeThoughts on 12 Jan 2017 (Business Traveller)

Old, decripid Tara Towers. Nothing can really beat this for a hotel stuck in the past. Awful. Drafty rooms, aged, in fact probably all the original ficture and fittings. Breakfast unappitising, Bar food horid sent my chicken wings back as the smelt off. Everything microwaved. No one needs to stay here and it isn't even cheap!

Needs some serious money spent on repairs and decorating

by pmckinnie064 on 12 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

Arrived at the hotel on a Friday night staying for 2 days. First thing we were told was that the free car parking cost 10 euroes per day. As we had planned to park the car and use public transport this was very annoying. One reason why we chose this hotel was that it advertised free parking. This of course was blamed on expedia for not keeping their details up to date.Staff were not very plesent nor friendly. The room was adiquate but not really of a very high standard. Clean was the only ...
