Starting with room reservation every thing is a problem. Very old rooms. Unclean wash rooms. Colonial bath tubs literally that old, dirty. Aidcondition stops in mid night. Makes you sweat. AC most inefficient. Restaurants... Break fast, dinner in South parade- Stale food, poor service. Matsuri Japanese restaurant. No where near authentic jap food. Break fast in Southern parade is also just a show piece Japanese break fast Far from any plus.and is an eye wash. Added is most unprofessional recepti...

The typical Government type hotel ( though its not)

by AshishA1141 on 12 Dec 2018 (Business Traveller)

Feels like this is the place where either they train staff or they send the bad ones …. what all can I say Even when you pay for the services you feel like people are doing you favors... Someone just walked into my room at 5.45 am without even ringing the bell and says sorry I thought this room was checked out.... 15 mins before breakfast closes all the food trays would be empty the water stinks..... and no one is at the live counter

Poor Quality rooms

by Vic K on 03 Dec 2018 (Business Traveller)

I have stayed in this hotel last week, very poorly maintained and smelly rooms, non smoking but lot of smell. First floor very poorly maintained, you can see the whole in the carpets. staff in the restaurant was nice and cooperative.

Good facility lousy service

by PANDYADILIP on 21 Nov 2018 (Business Traveller)

The facility and the location is very good. amenities also are wonderful. But the hotel lacked something very basic. In the morning breakfast, I encountered stones in my food. I showed to the lady who was serving and she escalated to her manager. Can you believe, that was it. No expression of regrets at all!!! Such a basic gap. The housekeeping also had to reminded several times for a request and same was the experience with room service.

About The Chancery Hotel

In a Nutshell

For years, The Chancery in Bangalore is a name that one reckons with sophistication, a fabulous address and a touch of old world charm. After all, it commands a vantage spot in the heart of the city, in the popular Lavelle Road. Here, you are close to the arterial Mahatma Gandhi (M.G) Road and the nightlife in the city, and yet tucked away in a tranquil spot in the green bylanes that criss-cross perpendicular to M.G Road. The Chancery has been fairly popular with business travellers but it makes for a great option for those who want to access the city’s different hues with ease, namely, the Government museum, Cubbon Park, Church Street, U.B City shopping arcade, the Rangoli Metro Art Centre, restaurants and pubs around M.G Road for a leisure trip. To stay over at The Chancery means that it is highly recommended to take a leisurely stroll in the lush Cubbon Park and immerse in the pleasant vibe of India’s largest IT hub. This is sure to become the highlight of your stay in Bengaluru. Don’t forget to chat with some of the old staff members for tips on the best local coffee and dosa. These hidden gems are what will make you slip into old world Bengaluru at the snap of your fingers.
