Expensive and Impersonal

by Moonbathing on 26 Jan 2017 (Solo Traveller)

Unfortunately, I didn't connect with this hotel, as much as I had wanted to like it. By any standard it's expensive but for India, it's astronomical, and that includes all amenities, restaurants, etc. With it's vast, empty hallways, the hotel is memorable in a colonial, sterile, museum way. Nothing reminds you of the warm, authentic, colorful India of today. But perhaps the worst aspect was the staff's attitude. People either didn't greet you at all or forced themselves to provide a pained, aloo...

Timeless elegance

by JGP1216 on 25 Jan 2017 (Business Traveller)

This hotel deserves its five stars. Service, rooms, food, concierge, the public places are all excellent and worth every dollar. I was traveling alone for business and decided to stay at a highly rated, centrally located hotel. Friends from India recommended the Imperial. All reservations were done via email with ease and little wait. A hotel driver and a "guide" met me at the airport for a 40 minute drive in a comfortable and clean car. On arrival at the front door, I was greeted by a friend...

by NeevSpencer on 24 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)

I have been going to Delhi my whole life so I know it well and one thing I love to do is shop.. One thing I really hate... the traffic. Imperial hotel is a little bit of calm in the storm of the city and I always love to stay there when Im in town.. The rooms are stunning the whole hotel is beautiful and you never bore of taking in such beauty. The food.. the spa the hairdressers even are all pure luxury. If you cant stay at the hotel you must have afternoon tea there its pure heaven!

Classy beautiful hotel!

by Jojosottawa on 24 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

We stayed here for three nights, the perfect start for our three-week holiday in India. This historic hotel is beautifully decorated, full of interesting art, photos and art deco objets, a pleasure to just walk the halls. The service is superbly attentive; the breakfast buffet is amazing; the restaurants are superb. We had an Imperial Room; it was nice; not overly large or elaborate but had all the necessities, and the bed and bedding were very comfortable. One can walk the few blocks to Connaug...

Historic luxury lacking natural light

by MMJCPA on 22 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

We very much enjoyed our 3 nights at this lovey historic hotel. The rooms are very clean, well attended with beautiful finishes to provide 5 star treatment accompanied with historic charm and service. It was also a wonderful treat to have excellent restaurants (although expensive) on the premise. The architecture and decor in the Spice Room restaurant made the delicious meal all the more special and the live local music made the excellent dinner in Daniell's Tavern an even more authentic trea...
