My Go To In My Own City
by awmlasasso on 27 Jan 2017 (Solo Traveller)
I'm SO glad The Jane exists. I've stayed here several times, and I live in New York. Every time I stay at The Jane I am reminded that hotels in New York City do not have to be expensive, and still be nice. I swear everyone who works at this hotel should be given some sort of medal for staying so friendly/nice/polite when dealing with all that I am sure they have to deal with on any given day. No, The Jane is not perfect (nor is it luxury), but they do their damn hardest to be so. Any time I ...
Value for money is an understatement!
by Will D on 18 Jan 2017 (Friends Traveller)
Stayed for 2 nights at The Jane and loved it. The location is not far from the subway and there is an abundance of bars and eating places within a very short walking distance. The hotel itself is quirky but classy and does not feel cheap or pretentious at all. The staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival, the bunk bed room we booked was small but comfortable and ideal for a short stay for 2 people. It had aircon, fresh water and robes/slippers so you can walk to the bathrooms in comfort...
Quirky hotel with issues
by Jose C on 15 Jan 2017 (Solo Traveller)
I'm writing this review from the hotel now. I'm staying in the 3rd floor, a cabin room, traveling solo. I booked directly with hotel. I've stayed in many boutique hotels and this one is definitely one of the quirkier ones. To make it easier I'm going to divide review into positives and negatives... Positives: - hotel location is surrounded by lots of restaurants and cafes - The staff is very friendly - Hotel is kept very clean and that's including the shared bathrooms - Barely no wait time to u...
Neat building, but disappointing & stressful experience overall
by Patricia F on 12 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)
Very intriguing place, considering its very unique architecture & design, as well as its history. Loved the neighborhood - meat packing district at the base of the High Line. Close to good food, cute neighborhoods to walk through, fun intellectual and physical activities of various kinds. Felt like a safe neighborhood. I recommend a captain's room, based on what I have heard from other guests. Don't stay here if you suffer from claustrophobia. The living spaces are really small and cr...

I really liked this hotel. I stayed in a Captain's Cabin with a fabulous en-suite bathroom and thought it was quirky and comfy. I was on the third floor so wasn't disturbed by noise from either the ballroom or rooftop bar. It's in a great location, 8 minutes from the Subway and only around the corner from the High Line and Whitney Museum of Modern Art. Kava coffee shop is a minute away for a gorgeous cup of coffee which is a good thing as the hotel coffee shop only takes card, no cash. If you...
