Friendly,nice and clean

by IrinaDaydream on 17 Jan 2019 (Friends Traveller)

We booked the places in advance for our trip, we stayed for 2 nights in Madurai, before heading for Kanadukathan. We also asked for advice from the hostel staff some time before arriving about transport, as we were arriving late at night in the mid of a festival. They were very helpful both before and during our stay. We enjoyed the place - spacious, clean, nice.

Great hostel in delightful Madurai

by SfromNZ on 04 Jan 2019 (Solo Traveller)

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. Easy to meet and chat to other guests who were from Europe and India. There is a lovely rooftop and a nice tidy kitchen (well it was when I stayed) that guests can use plus hang out areas. The guy that works night times was really helpful with advice on how to not get ripped off by auto rickshaw drivers and what to do in Madurai (as was whoever was responding to my emails before I arrived). Inexpensive Stay

by Pradhyumna G on 26 Dec 2018 (Solo Traveller)

I have stayed in a lot of hostels across Europe. But the hostel culture is pretty new to India. I was on a motorcycle trip and decided to halt here in Madurai as it was pretty inexpensive. Pros - 1. The beds were quite thin so the frame of the cot was felt everytime I rolled around in the bed. 2. There were tons of mosquitoes in the room that I stayed...

The kitchen is fine and the beds are good. Don't believe in lockers because they are just cases that anyone can take away. There's no toilet paper. The location worths its name, though you can walk from the train station (45 minutes). Still, it might be the best place to stay in Madurai, but don't expect more than one day there.

The hostel itself is decent. The dorm where I slept was full of mosquitos because the mosquito nets were broken, no hot water, I didn’t like the staff. No comment on the bathroom. A taxi was arranged for us to get to the railway station, staff gave us a price (150rs) but then we found out that the actual fare was 80rs.
