Historic Hotel is a hit!
by 915carolyn on 08 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)
A weekend escape from Portland landed us in the Moore Hotel in Seattle for New Year's. What a fun New Year surprise. The Moore is a historic hotel, refurbished to combine history with quirky, comfortable lodging. Our bed was comfortable, the bathroom up to date. It is hard to beat the location: we walked to Pike St Market, the art museum, Nordstrom's and even the Space Needle. My husband enjoyed his coffee in the popular coffee shop, and I enjoyed my tortilla soup in the "bar". This is not ...

We stayed at the Moore Hotel when we stayed in Seattle while going to see a few baseball games. The hotel is in a great location, right downtown, a short walk to Pike's Place and Pioneer Square. The rooms were simple and clean with a few shared bathrooms for each floor. There are sinks and a mirror in the room. The hotel was cheap, exactly what were looking for, but the shared bathroom was the only thing that wasn't great. Also, the bathrooms could have been cleaned and stocked more often...

First, we arrived after a long 12 hour road trip and the evening front desk gentleman was pretty amazing! Funny, personable and gave us some good tips! The bartender is a good guy too! The sour beer on tap...SO goo...

I booked the Moore based mainly on location and price, and after staying there, I can confirm the location is great. Literally a two minute walk from Pike Place Market, it was super easy to start my day with a coffee from the original Starbucks (though the coffee at Moore Coffee is great too). The staff were friendly and helpful (even holding a package for me). I've got to list the not so good points too, the main one being the actual sleep quality I had. On the first day I arrived, I went ou...

Cool is a word. Hip is another. Location is yet another. Value is cool word. The Moore I go there , the Moore I love it. The new James Moore eatery is a Mexican original that adds even Moore value. This is not a hotel for everyone. This is a value Hotel, some shared baths and a few friendly ghosts. Take a walk on the wild side and see what Moore you can get out of life. It's my home in Seattle.
