Living in the past!

by Pcr B on 02 Jul 2016 (Couple Traveller)

Leave your imagination free to travel into the balls of the famous opera singer, go for an early morning walk by the river, feel the breeze of the trees, drive your bicycle for hours, drink your cofee in the big yard of the Therese Malten villa. No complains, everything just fine. We' ll come back...somewhen...

Dresden with 15 girl-friends

by TizCandi on 03 Dec 2015 (Friends Traveller)

Coming from Italy, from Rome, I'm kind of used to beautiful residences and castles but Dresden has been a pleasant surprise for the richness and originality of its sites, such as the Old Green Vault or the Frauenkirche. Despite the fact that they have been re-built or exactly because they are rebuilt so well, they are definitely worth a visit. Our trip took place in the winter (end of Nov.-beginning of Dec.) when Xmas markets were in place: Germany at Christmas has a unique atmosphere! Dresden...

Great Place for a Family Gathering

by GeorgUteFabian on 19 Jul 2015 (Family Traveller)

I am so glad that we have chosen this very unique place for our large family. We stayed with 4 families (14 people) and hat plenty of space. You can feel the history of this villa that was once owned by the famous opera singer Therese Malten. The rooms are nicely furnished, have convenient beds and modern bathrooms. The villa has a huge garden, or better park. When you leave the park, you have only a 5 minute walk to the next ferry that brings you across the Elbe and to the Schloss Pillnitz. The...

Husband and I stayed 2 nights during the week for a short vacation. Didn't want to be in downtown Dresden, as our destination was Glashütte and the National Park to the East. But, Dresden was so easy to get to on the #2 tram, departing 3 blocks away, and running late into the night. Although the annual tree service was being performed during our visit, the nights were quiet and peaceful. I believe the morning attendant even had the tree workers wait until we appeared at breakfast, so as not to ...

Wonderful, welcoming B&B

by frances008 on 03 Feb 2015 (Family Traveller)

Though it has been more than a year since we visited Villa Malten for the second time, I can report that our stay was just as cozy and welcoming as the first time. We occupied room #1 on both occasions- a large room with 3 windows, very comfortable bed, good TV reception and very quite, making for a restful sleep. The bathroom, tub/shower is modern, has a large window and is of good size. If you have mobility issues, I would not recommend this bathroom, as the tub is quite deep, and perhaps di...
