Here are the top 10 experiences in Diu which you cannot miss on your trip. The story of Diu is about its sprawling proud fort, the fascinating churches and the unique branching palm (Hoka) trees found nowhere else in the country. To make the most of your visit to this breathtaking coastal town, plan a trip during the months of February to May.

1. Fort of Diu

The imposing stone
Fort of Diu (to the west of Diu town) is the tourist’s password, meaning you start exploring the place from here. Wrapped by the sea from three sides, the fort still stands tall with impressive canons atop, aiming in different directions.

2. Fortress of Panikotha

From the fort, you get a beautiful view of another stone structure in the sea, called the
Fortress of Panikotha, which can be reached only by a motor-launch or canoe. It also has a lighthouse and a small 17th-century chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Sea.

One of the most famous local attractions in Diu, St. Paul Church was built way back in 1610. The white structure spells tranquility and peace. St Paul’s Church is considered to be the most elaborate of all the Portuguese churches in India. The Church is dedicated to Our Lady of Immaculate Conception.
