Best time to visit jalandhar

Jalandhar (Jullundur) is one of the oldest cities of the state of Punjab and has been ruled by many dynasties. The city is inhabited by people from diverse religious beliefs and flaunts of age old spiritual places like Devi Talab Mandir, St Mary’s Cathedral and Gurdwara Chevin Padshahi. It is an important trade centre of the state and is also a major tourist destination. Situated between the irrigated plains of Beas and Sutlej rivers, the city boasts vast fields of plush vegetation. This city served as the capital of the state of Punjab till Chandigarh was built in the year 1953. It is situated on the Grand Trunk Road and Sikhism is the main religion followed here. This city witnesses a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and cool winters. Summer season is from April to June and winters extends from November to February.

There are a plethora of attractions in this city, which are worth a visit. From beautiful white gurudwaras to serene parks, this city has it all. Among the most prominent attractions of this city is counted the Gurudwara Sri Charan Kamal Sahib, Jalandhar (Jullundur). Situated in the Basti Sheikh area of Jalandhar City, it is a place of high religious importance for sikhs. It is believed that the sixth sikh guru, Shri Guru Hargobind sahib ji, paid a visit to this place when asked by a sufi saint named as Shaikh Darvesh. Another famous gurudwara of this region is the Gurudwara Sri Patshahi Chevin Sahib, Jalandhar (Jullundur). Other than gurudwaras, the city also houses a beautiful mosque named as Imam Nasir Masjid. This 800 year mausoleum is believed to be visited by Sufi Saint Baba Farid. To add to the religious feel, you can also plan a visit to the renowned Tulsi Mandir and Devi Talab Mandir. If visiting this city with kids, surprise them with a visit to Wonderland Theme Park.
