Best time to visit muzaffarnagar

The real hinterland of India, Muzaffarnagar is where you get an actual feel of how India lives. Rustic, aggressive, loving and noisy, it is not your everyday neighbourhood; yet it breeds familiarity and warmth in your heart. The camaraderie and genuine smiles of the people will instantly make you feel at home!

Situated in the lush belt of the upper Ganga-Yamuna doab, Muzaffarnagar is a quaint city in Uttar Pradesh. Famous for its sugarcane fields, it is an agrarian city. Muzaffarnagar is well connected by an efficient road and railway network. Travelling to and within the city is very convenient. You can either make use of public transport or hire a taxi. The city, despite being a commercial and industrial hub, also boasts of some exciting wildlife. The town of Khatauli has a canal side forest park by the name of Cheetal which is famous for its deer and rabbits.

There are many temples in the city, making it a hub for Hindu pilgrims. Vahelna, a small village in Muzaffarnagar, is an important place for people of the Jain sect. The village is also an example of religious and secular harmony as the walls of the mosque, Jain temple and Shiv Mandir touch each other. The Sankirtan Bhawan is the place where the idol of Lord Tirupati Balaji is established. The place gets its name owing to the fact that a kirtan is performed here every evening by the devotees.

There are many tourist attractions in the city, including the prestigious Government Educational Museum. The museum, set up in 1959, houses stone sculptures, coins, terracotta figures and stamps. The Zoology Museum is an interesting place situated within the Sanatan Dharam College. It houses various species of invertebrate, vertebrate animals and insect. If you are in the mood of a picnic or a leisurely stroll, then head over to the Kamla Nehru Vatika. The garden is lush with fruit-bearing trees, fragrant bushes and flowerbeds. The best time to visit Muzaffarnagar is between November and April as the weather is pleasant.
