about trekking to tagore hill

Also known as Moradabad hill, this 300 m high hill is named after the Nobel Laureate, Rabindranath Tagore. Sources claim that this hill has close associations to Tagore's family, or that Tagore wrote portions of Geetanjali here. He didn't. Tagore never even kept a foot on the Ranchi soil. It was his elder brother who made this place his home after the death of his wife.

The first thing you will notice is the graffiti sprayed on huge boulders, followed by a white archway. Once you climb the hill you can see the house where Tagore's elder brother stayed. It has been recently renovated by Tagore buffs. The view of the city from the hill top is remarkable. This place is the perfect getaway if you are looking for a peaceful place away from the city noises. There is a Ramakrishna Ashram at the foot of Tagore hill. It is advisable not to venture out here after dark.
