about turquoise villa

Unmistakable with its turquoise blue-coloured walls standing at the busy Panchavati Circle intersection, Turquoise Villa is a cross between a cafE and a restaurant. There is an open-sided sitting area with a coffee bar facing the road, an AC indoor seating with settees and chairs, and a Moroccan/Middle-Eastern-style low-seating lounge upstairs. There is even an area upstairs being developed for private dining. The best thing about this place is the innovative and varied menu that includes takes on everyday street foods from around the world\: the Pao Bhaji Fondue, for instance, is a more liquid version of the bhaji in a communal pot eaten by dipping long-stemmed forks with pao bread! Here you get Chandni Chowk Chilla Chaat, Nariman Point Sandwich (the toasted sandwiches made by vendors in the commercial districts of Mumbai), Manek Chowk-style Pineapple and Cheese Sandwich, Dalwada, pretty good Chhole-Bhature, Biryani and other iconic Indian street foods. They also have Chicken Satay, Nasi Goreng and Thai-style noodles. Children will enjoy their Nachos (house-made chips) and the New York-style pizzas (the multi-cheese one is really good). For non-vegetarians, some of their specialities are the Caesar's Salad with Prawns, the Roast Chicken and the British Batter-fried Fish. Don't miss desserts like CrEme Brûlée done the way it is at carts in Europe, the Tiramisu or the cheesecakes. The highlight of Turquoise Villa is their beverages. They do an excellent standard of coffee from South Indian filter to the European favourites, some good teas including Ahmedabad's favourite Cutting Masala Chai, the Mexican Hot Chocolate, a home-brewed take on the Ginger Beer, and mocktails. The teas and coffees are served with cookies or khari, and you can also have them with house-made cupcakes. Most of their food and beverages is reasonably good.
