It's cheap but it doesn't worth any of it. This place is dirty, dark, frightening, smelly and very unpleasant. Although Mr. Kazu is very nice and friendly, trust me and find another place, there much better places at the same price in Osaka. We just slept one night because it was to late to find another place, we left the morning after even having paid for 3 nights.

I like it as below points: 1) It is cheapest hostel I have been stayed in all my trips around the world. 2) you don't have to share your room with others, have basic supplies ( tourist information, hangers, lockers) 3) free wifi in room 4) has large common area and kitchen area 5) have two share toilet in the floor 6) The owner is very friendly and also live in the building in top floor so any questions can ask easily, he also speak good English which is easy to communicate. 7) have lift 8)...

I stayed at Umeda dormitory for 1 month while back in Osaka (after living here a few years prior) and what started off as a pleasant stay unfortunately changed a bit as the weeks went on. First of all the positives: The price-cheapest place in Osaka and generally the standards are great The location-a 10minute walk to Umeda and useful shops like Yodobashi camera, 100yen stores, matsuya and underground shopping complexes as well as being useful to all major transport links, Great cooking ...
A true hostel in Osaka
by Nonina33 on 21 Jan 2013 (Couple Traveller)
I agree with everything the previous reviewer said about Umeda Dorm and the lovely couple who run it. Whilst the rooms are Japanese tiny, the common room is outstanding - large, fully equipped kitchen, a couple of dining tables and lounge areas (complete with computers if you don't have a laptop for the super strong wifi) and, yes, some work-out equipment! Definitely a place to return to when we are next in Osaka.
Cheapest room in Japan!
by Brandon1983 on 01 Sep 2010 (Couple Traveller)
This is by very far the cheapest room we have found to stay in in Japan so far. We located the Umeda Dormitory on the internet and booked for 7 nights. 500 yen per night and 11,000 yen per week! This is an amazing deal by Japan standards. The rooms are small and basic, as are all cheap rooms in Japan. However they are comfortable, clean and secure. Unlike most other Japanese hostel which have check in times of between 4pm and 6pm here you can check in anytime! The common room has a very well ...
