Friendly staff, perfect location

by Linus S on 23 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)

Friendly staff who did everything they could to make our stay the best. There was no question they did´t help us with. We got champagne on the room and refill of cookies and milk every day. When we were out on the night and came back the staff had cleaned the room once again and set the mood. Very appreciated. Great location on Canal Street, close to Piccadilly station (5 min walking distance).

Interesting boutique hotel on Canal Street

by DawnSLondon on 20 Jan 2017 (Business Traveller)

Decided to stay here whilst away on business to try a different hotel in Manchester. I travel quite a lot for work and often stay in bland hotels that could be anywhere so it was really nice to stay somewhere with some real character. The rooms are all individually decorated and the nice touches like a tray of coffee or tea on arrival and a bucket of ice, sliced lemon and some lovely biscuits together with a turn down service and chocolates on the pillow make it more personal. Great area with ea...

Pizza / Prosecco

by McrPhil on 19 Jan 2017 (Friends Traveller)

When suggested by a good friend, on the last day of work before the Christmas vacation period, for us to go for "Pizza & Prosecco", I thought, why not! It sounded like the perfect way to end the working year, and t'was the season, after all. It was recommended to me to try the crispy duck pizza, which I had ...

Basic. Quite basic

by Mark G on 19 Jan 2017 (Solo Traveller)

Velvet Hotel and Restaurant Whilst not staying at the hotel, I visited the restaurant in the basement of the hotel having had a recommendation from a work colleague. Admittedly it wasn't so much a recommendation, more a place he knew. On arrival you go down the stairs into the basement, although there are windows into the basement at street level. As you go down the stairs you walk over what seemed to be a fish tank, although no overly well maintained. I was greeted quickly and informally ...

Great for a one night stay

by Girlsonholiday2010 on 19 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

Great location to Piccadilly Station and the city centre, very friendly staff and helpful, greeted with fresh tea and biscuits on arrival. Our room had a gothic Indian vibe with black and red décor, and a Huge double bath, very clean, and did not have any problem with noise from the street below, which is the famous Canal street with all the gay clubs, the streets are a little scruffy around and about but what large city doesn't have that problem. The only down side was the breakfast room it lac...
