about vipassana sadhna kendra

The Vipassana Sadhna Kendra in Dehradun was established in 1995 by Rajesh Gupta and runs under the auspices of the Igatpuri chapter. About 28 10-day courses are run here each year and the schedule can be seen on their website. To enroll for a course, ask for an application form from the Dehradun office or the Vipassana centre.

However, the easiest way to register is to simply call them. During the course a strict routine is followed — waking at 4:00 AM and retiring at 9:00 PM. The  Vipassana Sadhna Kendra has very basic rooms, with attached bathrooms, shared by two people. Eight rooms are set around a central courtyard. Men and women have separate quarters. First-timers do the meditation in a big hall, old students have the choice of meditating in cubicles provided around a pagoda. The ashram is spacious. Usually 50-60 students can stay here for the course comfortably. The food is prepared by the ashram caretakers.

Full Meditation but cannot talk
Jun 25 2014
Vipassana center is for meditation. But you cannot talk to each other and not even any symbolic gesture. All day meditations brings peace of mind, do experience once.
