Not a hotel!

by Mike G on 21 Aug 2016 (Couple Traveller)

I left disappointed with my stay here. Me and my partner had travelled up to see family and booked into West Park. The rooms are university dorm rooms. As you can see by the photos, the bathroom had mold and cracks around the shower plug, stains on the ceiling, an extractor fan that didn't work and a wardrobe that didn't close. The t.v. in the room was around 16inches and poor picture quality. There was a safe in the wardrobe with a sign saying do not use. The room was also very small and there ...

Good Standard Student En-Suite

by Jacqueline O on 15 Aug 2016 (Business Traveller)

This is a student hostel rather than a hotel or 'bed & breakfast' so there was a bit of a trek between the en-suite and breakfast hall which was in another building. Once at the right building, there were three separate doors (the outside door, the floor door, and the room door) to unlock to enter the en-suite. The en-suite was to a good standard. Clean and adequate space in the en-suite, comfortable, and facilities were in good condition. There was a digital TV and beverages. Choice of break...

Very Poor Value for Money

by Iris D on 09 Aug 2016 (Family Traveller)

The Room is advertised as a Double Room but the bed is not a double and it is obvious that it is really only meant for one person. ie a student The cooked breakfast was disappointing I am sure the scrambled eggs were powdered. On a positive note the overall cleanliness of the place was very good and the main building impressive I think the rooms are very overpriced for what they are and the advertising is quite misleading ..

"Hotel" not on its best day would I call this an hotel

by littleltl on 30 Jul 2016 (Business Traveller)

Student residence, plain and simple, if you are going to put lipstick on a pig, it need to be thicker than this. It was clean, that is the best that I can manage. Cooked breakfast? Self service under heat lamps. Ashet of watery scrambled eggs, sausages and beans. Continental, 3 buckets of cereal and tinned grapefruit, canteen coffee fron a pump action flask. This was marketed as an hotel, I knew it was part of the university but thought the hotel bit might be like Stirling Management Centre acc...

Overnight in West Park

by JMart2013 on 26 Jul 2016 (Couple Traveller)

My husband and I stayed here one Saturday night after attending a wedding at Piperdam. The room was affordable at £60 a night. The place is clean and there is good wifi. West park is usually student accommodation during term time and although the rooms are small they are all ensuite. All in all basic, clean budget accommodation which is just outside the city centre.
