Towering snow capped mountains, dense verdant forest and breathtaking milieu teams up to present a plethora of adrenaline pumping adventure sports in Manali. At different times of the year different sports can be enjoyed in the hill station. Few of the most popular are mentioned below:


  • Rafting

    Riverrafting is a thrilling experience that can be enjoyed in Manali. This exhilarating sport can be enjoyed in the gush of the Beas river from Manaki to Jhiri close to Bajaura in Kullu district. The best months to indulge yourself into this sport is from April to June and again from mid September to mid October. The charges vary from 1000 INR to 1500 INR, which can again be negotiated. White water rafting is offered in the Raison district.
     

  • Zorbing

    Zorbing is thriving to be a very popular sport among the tourists lately. It is mostly offered in the Solang valley in the Manali region. It requires you to slide inside a huge plastic bubble, known as zorb and hold on to the harnesses inside the it. Once you are ensured of your safety, the zorb is rolled down a gradient of about 100 meters.
     

  • Skiing

    Solangvalley is the best place to ski in Manali, it offers slopes for both rookies and experts. However the valley bustles with tourists in the peak season. So, besides Solang valley, Patalsu, Gulaba, Marhi, Dhundi and Rohtang Pass are also great options.
     

  • Paragliding

    Paragliding is an awesome experience in the Kullu valley of Manali region. Places like Solang, Bir and Mahadev are some areas from where you can have some of the best launches. The panoramic view of the breathtaking valley from atop is an unforgettable experience. In the months from February to June and from September to November paragliding can be enjoyed in the hillstation.
     

  • Trekking

    Manali is a paradise for trekkers. The popular trails in the city are through the Beas Kund, Manali-Hampta Pass, Pin Parvati Pass, Kinner Kailash circuit, Sar pass, Chanderkhani Pass, Deo Tibba Base Camp, Chandertal Lake, Bal Taal lake and Barchala.
     

  • Mountaineering

    The best place that offers mountaineering in the region is in Kullu, parts like Beas Kund region, Hanuman Tibba and Deo Tibba are the most popular among them.

There are also other sports that can be enjoyed in the valley like snowboarding, mountain biking in areas like Rohtang Pass, Lahaul and Spiti and River crossing in Bhang and Aleo.
