What are the different modes to travel within Jaipur?

0 people found this answer useful Useful ?Yes

There are a lot of options for getting around Jaipur or traveling within the city. However, the more recommended ones are:

Traveling by RTDC bus is one of the best and cheapest way to visit the Jaipur Local Sights by RTDC (Rajasthan Tourism Dept. Corp.) that offers three type of tours namely a full day tour,  a half day tour and also  a Pink city night tour. Anyone who is interested in hopping onto the bus and traveling by the bus services to see the exquisite beauty of the Pink City can go to the official websites to look at the schedules. There is also one guide who is available with each bus to give a brief about all sights.

There are different packages available if you choose RTDC for a tour in Jaipur. The Half Day Tour would cost you around INR 250 pax, a Full Day Tour INR 300 pax and a Night Tour would cost you INR 350 pax. The duration and the timings define the inclusion of attractions in the package.

Another way is to travel through a Local Bus among which, City bus #5 connects directly Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal, New Gate and the intersection of MI Road and Railway Rd every 10 minutes until 9 PM. The average cost to do is between INR 10 - 12 depending on distance.

Also,
autorickshaw is another way around the city. The rate should be no more than INR. 4.50 per km (½ mi), with a minimum total of INR. 10. Hiring an auto rickshaw for a whole day with a trip to Amber Fort should cost around INR 350.

Prepaid autos are available at the Jaipur railway station and the Sindhi Camp bus stand.

Cycle-rickshaws
are also one of the most famous modes of travel within the city. The amount of time it takes quickly makes the extra few rupees worth it.

If you want to get a feel of the old Jaipur, then try traveling within the city in a Tonga. However, this full of fun mode is only available in some parts of the city and can be found in front of some attractions in the city. If not by all the above mentioned options, one can be on the move through
taxisthat are very convenient and comfortable. Some taxis are painted with yellow & black color scheme on their body which helps to uniquely identify from the private cars.

One should always try to negotiate fares when dealing with the local transport. You would not want to burn a hole that you cannot stitch in your pocket, right?
