Pune has a whole lot of choices when it come to local transportation, it’s upto you to decide and be prepared to experience a joy ride across the city. Take a look:

  • PMPML City bus

You can term the PMPML city bus as a lifeline of Pune as it has the most extensive coverage when it comes to local connectivity. Almost every part of the city is connected by these buses. You can hop on a city bus from all major bus stands including Corporation, Kothrud depot, Katraj, Deccan, Hadapsar and Nigdi. As for the tariff, it totally depends on the distance, however the range is within INR 5 to INR 22.

  • Auto Rickshaws

Pune is also replete with three wheeled auto rickshaws (pre-paid as well post paid). There are some pre-paid rickshaw stands at places like Swargate Bus Depot, Lohegaon Airport and Shivajinagar. The autos here have fixed meters and the most interesting part is that they don’t even ask where to go as you step in. All you have to do is just guide them to the place where you are travelling to.

  • Bikes

Pune, once known as city of bicycles, is now more of a city with motor cycles. If you are the types who can’t resist a bike even on a vacation, rest assured, Pune has a host of choices for you. You can opt for a 100cc Bajaj Platina (INR 200 for a day) or an automatic Honda scooter (INR 300 for a day) or even bikes- the choice is yours. There are two prominent vendors including Blossoms (+91-98908-29786) & Mehta Autos (91-93710-26288).

  • Trains

Heard a lot about Mumbai local trains and you are interested in experiencing something similar? Well, it’s time to catch a local train in Pune which boasts of having a same pattern as that of Mumbai. There are whole lot of local trains plying in the city and the single railway line is connected to 17 stations across Pune. Some of the stations that have regular train services, including Shivaji Nagar, Dehu Road, Akurdi, Talegaon, Ghorawadi and Pimpri to name a few.

No matter which mode you choose, Pune will welcome you with love and warmth.
