So, are you all geared up to explore the historical marvel that Gwalior is? Now, that the packing is more or less done, it’s time to decide on how to reach this city. We here give you a brief idea of what all is available to ferry you to this beautiful and inviting place.

  • By Air
Gwalior Airport is the nearest port that links several cities across India such as Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Indore and Bhopal to this city. For international tourists, the New Delhi airport is the chief connecting link, from where they can reach here. The airport is located some 8 km away from the heart of the city and can be easily accessed through cabs and buses. A cab will charge you around INR 150 to carry you to the city from the airport, though you can try bargaining a little.
  • By Train
Gwalior Railway Station is connected to all the major cities of India, the prominent ones being Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Bangalore. The railway station is located in the heart of the city and therefore it is suggested that you board an auto-rickshaw or a tempo in order to move to other parts of the city. The charges can begin at INR 10 and will vary as per the distance covered. Tempos will be a cheaper option, though they may not be convenient if you have luggage to carry as well since they are shared.
  • By Bus
Starting from government-run buses to private deluxe buses, Gwalior is equipped with adequate transportation facilities by buses. The buses carry passengers from many major cities like Delhi (321 km), Jaipur (350 km), Agra (118 km), Indore (486 km) and Mumbai (970 km). A typical tourist bus is likely to charge about INR 3 to INR 4 for each kilometre travelled from its passengers.

Now that you have a list of options available for you, don’t you think it’s so much simpler to plan? Well, then hurry up and go ahead with the bookings.
