One of the most popular sacred destinations in Northern India, Katra is famously associated with the Maa Vaishno Devi Shrine. Escape the madness of the city and rejuvenate in clean, fresh and natural environs. To arrive at this beautiful place, you need to know about the following options:

  • Rail

The nearest railway station is Jammu and you can hire cabs (Ford Ikon for INR 900 & Tata Indica for INR 800- all tentative) for Katra. There is also an option for buses which are readily available outside the railway station (tariff differs as per the bus types- AC, Non-Ac or normal buses).

  • Air

Jammu, at a distance of 48 kms from Katra, is the nearest airport and you can opt for either taxis/cabs (Ford Ikon for INR 900 & Tata Indica for INR 800- all tentative) or buses. You will be able to board the buses on a 10 minute interval that operates between 5:30 am to 8:30 pm.

  • Road

You can travel to Katra via road from
Delhi or from its adjoining areas. There are regular bus services from Delhi for Katra. Bus tariffs may differ depending on the type of bus you board. For instance, if you opt for Non AC seater (from Delhi) it would cost you approx INR 250 per person, while Non AC sleeper would charge around INR 330 per person. If you want to enjoy the comforts and luxury of a Volvo bus, you have to shell out approx INR 800 per person.

Reach through any means, Katra is always ready to embrace with you warmth and love.
