  • By Air

    With regular flights flying to Koh Samui, reach this paradise in a jiffy. Travelling by air may be the most expensive way to reach the island, but its certainly the most convenient. Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways and Firefly operate flights to Koh Samui International Airport from a plethora of locations including Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.
    If you are looking for a cheaper option, you could also take a flight to Surat Thani airport which is about one and a half hours from Koh Samui. Once you reach the airport at Surat Thani, you can take a ferry to the island. There are a number of buses plying between the Donsak’s ferry port and the airport. The ferry rides takes about an hour till Koh Samui.
    Hop on to a plane and before you know it, you are in this alluring island.

  • By Train

    You can enjoy a slow, lazy journey to Koh Samui. With numerous trains plying from Bangkok to Koh Samui, it is going to be one enchanting journey. The travelling time is close to 12 hours till Surat Thani. Once at Surat Thani, you can take a ferry till the island, which takes another 90 minutes.
    If you have time on your hands and don’t want to spend all your cash on travel, then trains are your best bet. The Rail-Bus-Ferry tickets can be purchased at the train station in Bangkok itself.

  • By Road

    Sit back and see the world pass by. Board a bus from Bangkok and enjoy a hassle free journey to Koh Samui. You can easily hop onto a bus from Bangkok and settle in for a comfortable 9 - 10 hour journey. Choose amongst a number of buses plying between Bangkok and Surat Thani, from general buses to VIP Coach buses, there are a myriad options.
    Depending on the amount you want to spend on travel, the buses range from inexpensive general, local buses to slightly expensive air conditioned coaches offering a luxurious journey. It is suggested to spend a little extra cash for an absolutely comfortable journey. Though the difference in ticket prices may not be much, but the amenities provided in VIP coaches will make all the difference to your journey. Once at Surat Thani, you can again take a bus to the ferry port for the last leg of your journey, a fun ferry ride to the island.

  • By Boat

    If you aren’t flying directly to Koh Samui, then taking a short ferry ride from Surat Thani to the island is a wise option. The ferry takes about 1 hour 45 minutes depending on the ferry that you pick. From the car and passenger ferry, which takes about 1 hour 30 minutes to the Catamaran passenger ferry which takes a mere 45 minutes to the island, you can choose amongst a myriad ferries.
