Kozhikode has inherited a remarkable commercial and artistic culture. Kozhikode gives you ample of scope to admire and cherish its culture through its museums. Read on to know what all the city has to offer.

  • Pazhassiraja Museum

    Located at East Hill, 5 km from the city
    , this museum is a rich container of ancient art in Kerala. You can find here exhibited ancient coins, copies of ancient murals, megaliths and bronze objects that grace this site wonderfully.
    The museum remains available to public from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm everyday except on Mondays and public holidays.

  • Art Gallery

    This repository of art is situated near the building of Pazhassiraja Museum. The gallery houses a huge collection of paintings done by the famous veteran painter Raja Ravi Varma, and is most famous for this reason.
    However, the gallery also keeps a vast array of paintings from several other painters as well, especially those that depict beautifully the culture of Kerala.
    The paintings can be beheld and marvelled at by visitors between 10 am to 5 pm on all days except Monday and public holidays.. Entry fee for each person is INR 5.

  • Krishna Menon Museum

    The museum is dedicated to the great Indian statesman, V. K. Krishna Menon. The museum superbly exhibits his personal belongings and souvenirs gifted to him. This storehouse of art and history is located adjacent to the Pazhassiraja Museum.
    However, the museum remains open only on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 10 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.30 pm to 5 pm.
