Done with exploring what Kasauli has to offer? Then it is time to get to know its surroundings better. And when we talk about the places around Kasauli, we should tell you that they are no less mesmerizing! Excited, then read on.

  • Parwanoo

    Famous for its rope-way,
The Timber Trail, Parwanoo has also gained popularity for its orchards and the production of dry fruits lately. The Timber Trail Resort also offers the excitement of mountain biking and trekking, along with its tennis courts and facilities for night cricket. Driving through this place gives one a number of opportunities to soak in Mother Nature in all her purity. Gateway to popular hill stations like Pinjore and Kasauli, Parwanoo is essentially a small industrial town, with more than three fourths of the population employed in industries. The Sheetla Mata temple located at the top of the hill is known for its fair before the Navratras, which it celebrates with much vigour and gusto. Being located on the borders of Punjab and Haryana, 7 km from Kasauli, Parwanoo is a popular family destination and draws tourists for short vacations full of activity and excitement as it is just around 30 minute drive away from Kasauli.

  • Sanawar

Around 6 km away from the town of Kasauli, Sanawar is best known for the major tourist attraction of the region,
Lawrence School at Sanawar. In 1853, the British Empire awarded the school the King's Colours, an honour that is given to only six schools the world over. In the first week of October every year, the students of Sanawar celebrate their Founder's Day. This is undoubtedly the only time when the relatively quiet atmosphere of Kasauli is full of cheers of fun and frolic. You can come to the school campus and can explore the mesmerising gardens with pine, deodar and other coniferous trees in the campus. You can also stroll around in the campus and be spell bound by the beautiful colonial buildings that are charming as ever. Another interesting thing is the chapel located in the campus which is famous among tourists and locals alike.

  • Dagshai

Just 19 km from Kasauli, Dagshai was once a favourite among British families. However, it is much less frequented by tourists today. The seemingly untouched beauty of the place is further accentuated when you just lazily walk around the paths and rest under the natural canopy of oaks and holly forests. Embark on this 45 minute drive from Kasauli if you are comfortable with driving around the hills. The place grows on you.

If you are really driving down to the places around Kasauli, always take care of your safety on the roads. This is not to scare you but the roads do get slippery at times which can be really risky. Drive within the speed limit, ALWAYS!

Phew! These places are mind blowing wonders in small packages, aren't they?
