A trip to Gwalior means traversing through the crucial turns of Indian history. From its vibrant youth culture to its towering palaces, you simply cannot afford to miss the subtle charm that the city radiates.   • The Tansen Festival, organized annually in the month of November or December, is the most important cultural event in the city. So, if you happen to find yourself in this majestic city during this time, don’t miss on this one. The 4-day event is held at the city’s iconic Tansen Tomb.

  • Gwalior Fort, the symbol of the city’s rich history, must be the topmost priority on your mind when you are here. Gwalior Fort exhibits a brilliant light and sound show which is organized at 8.30 pm in the summers (March to October) and at 7.30 pm in winters (November to February). The show costs INR 40 per head.

  • If you are a fond historian, go to the base of Gwalior Fort where within Gujari Mahal, you can find the State Archaeological Museum, which houses several antique Jain and Hindu sculptures.
