  • The place derived its name from its ancient idol called Khajji Nag, which is still revered highly and worshipped by the locals. The 12th century antique structure of Khajjinag Temple. is considered as one of the oldest and holiest religious shrines in the entire state of Himachal Pradesh. A visit to the temple will enlighten you with the history of this place.


  • The picturesque saucer-shaped meadows of Khajjiar surround the lovely Khajjiar Lake. The lake has a floating island at its centre. The lake is perfect for serene walks along the banks or for boating activities.
  • For wildlife enthusiasts and nature-lovers, Kalatope Wildlife Sanctuary is a perfect getaway. this exotic abode of multiple hues of flora and a wide variety of fauna is a natural habitat par excellence.
  • There are a plenty of places around Khajjiar which you should try to visit. Sites like Subhash Baoli, Dainkund Peak, Satdhara Falls, etc. are very famous in Dalhousie, while in Chamba, you must go to Champavati Temple, Chaugan, Church of Scotland, among other landmarks.

  • Adventures are a staple in Khajjiar. Try horse-riding and boating at Khajjiar Lake.
