Rich in Tibetan and Buddhist culture, Kalimpong is a popular retreat which proudly plays host to the Zang Dhok Palri Phodang Buddhist monastery. Overlooking the Teesta river and valley, this small hill-town in the 'Lesser Himalayas' is a treat for nature-lovers, especially with its lush horticulture and flower-markets. Talking about the local attractions, make sure you explore the following names:

  • Mangal Dham

    The erstwhile worship place of Lord Krishna is famous for its marvellous architecture. You will be surprised to see that the prayer hall is done in a ballroom style with eight beautiful and grand pictures of Krishna Leela adorning the walls of the hall. The temple also doubles up as a memorial of Guruji Shri Mangaldasji, a famous saint.
